About

This blog was begun by me, Mari, as a companion work to my website, www.madeleinemoments.com, which I created after reading In Search of Lost Time by Marcel Proust and falling in love with the novel and Paris.  At the website and this blog I hope to share some of that love and the things I’ve learned by reading about Proust’s life, his works and his Paris.  As I read through In Search of again, I am attempting to blog as I read, although this has been put on hold somewhat as we, my husband Rod and I, work on a Native American garden and care for our over 100-year old home and the place where it resides: http://shebringsmewater.wordpress.com

    Mari!

Thank you for your kind reminder not to rip off other people’s work: I apologize for not crediting your blog for the lovely photo of the madeleines I used on my blog.

I do always want to honor other people’s work, and your comment was a gentle nudge to remind me not to get careless about that! (And I do appreciate that you did it gently. I’ve read very frightening slams on other people’s blog about this, but I believe mostly we bloggers want to be generous… Well, I hope so, anyway.)

I’ve changed my post to credit your husband and your blog. Thank you for the information and for letting me use the photo.

I would like to send you a Tiffany-made cigarette case, as Proust would have done, but in lieu of that, please accept my sincere apology and thanks for your good blog instead.

    Best,
    Fresca

Great story of the Medeliene Moment. I too have been an artist since childhood and ever in the moment of Madeliene. Started oil paints right after high school as when entering college. Did not touch them again for 20 years, then to pastel chalk sketching which I now find my original sketching as my element again as a child at age 53- See the site as my art is now featured in NASA web sites! - Mark
